As of July 16th , GruntWorx will discontinue support of TLS 1.0/1.1 security protocols as they provide inadequate encryption for the transfer of client data across the Internet. As of this date, GruntWorx users must have TLS 1.2/1.3 installed on their systems to log in to GruntWorx.
Updating the TLS protocols is required to ensure the protection of your client data and to comply with IRS and NIST guidelines. Tax and accounting software, Microsoft, Google, and other major Internet players will no longer support these aging security protocols. As of July 16th GruntWorx will update our network to comply with these important security updates and the older protocols will no longer allow user access to our web sites.
Windows 8.1 and higher support TLS 1.2/1.3. To avoid future disruption, GruntWorx recommends upgrading your operating system to Windows 10.
Windows 7, by default, does not enable support for the updated protocols and Microsoft is no longer providing updates. If your Win 7 computer cannot be upgraded, Microsoft has instructions to enable the updated protocols here: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-secure-protocols-in-wi
A computer can be tested for compliance by going to this page and ensuring that TLS 1.2 is enabled in the ‘protocol support’ section. https://browserleaks.com/ssl
